• Participate for the first time in an audiovisual creation exhibition program

TIJUANA.- With the participation for the first time of the works of the Film Workshop of the Lázaro Cárdenas Federal High School, the June session of EMERGENTE BC was held at the Carlos Monsiváis Cineteca of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT), reported Abelardo Vázquez Ramos, Director of Creative Industries at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (SEI).

The official explained that EMERGENTE BC is a program created by the Baja California Film Commission to showcase the work generated in state universities and for the first time in its programming it was integrated into a high school.

The thirteen titles exhibited are: “4 donas y media” directed by Elizabeth Cano; “No los escuches” by Germán Huidobro; “The Skirmish” by Max Montes de Oca; “La historia de las dos” by Geovanna Hernández; “Delirio” by Dominique Olivan; “Desenfoque” by Javier Arellano; “Nunca se muere” by Sancire Ruiz; “Verónica” by Tannia Guzmán; “Lucha silenciosa” by Jazmín Izquierdo and Geovanna Hernández; “Pure King” by Alejandra Agüero; “La obsesión” by Jesús Escobar; “Déjà senti” by Oyuki Albarez; and “White Roses” by Óscar Ramírez and Val Rocher.

The curatorship was in charge of the coordinator of the Film Workshop, Rocío Pantoja and the short films used different techniques including "stop motion", in addition to going through a variety of genres such as drama, comedy, suspense and romance.

“The inclusion of the work of the students of the Film Workshop of said high school is something we had planned since last year and it was finally integrated into the EMERGENTE programming, which now remains as an annual commitment for its exhibition in the Cineteca”, commented Javier Espinoza, Baja Film Commissioner.

The program will continue its third season with the programming of short films corresponding to the students of the Cinematography Degree of the Universidad de las Californias Internacional (UDCI) on July 27th at 6:00 p.m. the afternoon at the CECUT facilities.
