• They present the programming of short and feature film sections

Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.- In collaboration with various authorities of the Ensenada municipal government and the CUT Universidad del Campus of that municipality, the organizers presented the program for the International Film Festival that will take place from August 24 to 26, as indicated Caleb Triana, director and programmer of the International Film Festival in Ensenada.

At the facilities of the Red Room of the Riviera Social, Civic and Cultural Center, the detail of the program was announced with the presence of Elvia Martínez General Coordinator of the Municipal Cabinet; Lucía Grayzar Rodríguez, Director of IMCUDHE; Norma López, Director of CUT Universidad Campus Ensenada; and as special guest Milka Ibáñez Martinovic, director of the Film and Comedy Festival 24 Risas Por Segundo.

In said event, the importance of cinema was discussed and the commitments of the municipal government to support the cinematographic sector of the region were reiterated. They also thanked the support given by CUT University to promote cinema and its important contribution to the realization of this event and the support of the State Commission that is part of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and is in charge of Javier Espinoza Medina. 

The programming of the “Baja Short” sections was also announced, which will feature 10 short films and the Mexican feature film section that will feature 15 Mexican films from various regions of the country. Likewise, the prizes that will be awarded in both categories will be reported, such as the color correction prize with a value of 46 thousand Mexican pesos for the "Baja en corto" section, sponsored by Jacalito Films and the distribution prize for the section for a Mexican feature film awarded by Benuca Films. The jury of the “Baja en Corto” section, which will be made up of Milka Ibáñez Martinovic, Johnny Olan, director of the Oro Negro Film Festival and Kristal Soto Mayor, Programmer of the San Francisco California SFFILM International Film Festival.

As well as the committee of film analysts and critics, who will grant special recognition in the Mexican Feature Film section, including Alberto Villaescusa Rico, creator of the site “Pegado a la butaca”, who has been a contributor to Radio Fórmula Tijuana and the digital magazines “Palomita de Maíz” and “Este País”. Also Ana Iribe, who writes criticism for “La Estatuilla”, “Girls at Films” and “Cinema World” magazines, as well as being co-creator of “Cinema Crushes” magazine.

Additionally, Cuauhtémoc Ruelas participates Author of the book "Tijuana, La Esquina del Cine", Writer of the Identity Cultural Supplement in the newspaper El Mexicano and part of the selection committee at the San Diego Latino Film Festival, together with Juan Alberto Apodaca, General Coordinator and founder of the International Forum of Cinematographic Analysis FACINE and Author of the book “Entre atracción y repulsión. Tijuana representada en el cine”.

The ceremony ended with the masterclass "Comedy as a tool for reflection" given by Milka Ibáñez Martinovic, in which she shared her experience in organizing the Film and Comedy Festival, as well as her approach to comedy in the cinema.
