• Next Saturday, March 12th, in the Francisco Zarco Hall of the Benito Juárez Theater.

In order to expand the audiovisual exhibition offer, this Saturday, March 12th, the International Film Showcase returns to Ensenada, with the screening of the Argentine feature film “Las Motitos”, by directors Inés María Barrionuevo and Gabriela Vidal, and will take place in the Francisco Zarco Hall of the Benito Juárez Theater at 4:00 p.m., under the organization of producer Caleb Triana, informed the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales.

Through the Baja Film Commission, the aim is to provide logistical support for the development of audiovisual productions and promote them. The plot of "Las Motitos", also written by Vidal, is about Juliana (Carla Gusolfino) and Lautaro (Ignacio Pedrone), who live in a poor neighborhood surrounded by police. They are in love and face an unwanted pregnancy, not knowing what to do.

About the showcase, the Triana commented: “as organizers we want to bring a cinema offer that many times for distribution reasons does not reach commercial cinemas. And complement it with a talk with each director at the end of the screenings, for those who are more interested in filmmaking”.

“Las Motitos” participated in the Guanajuato and Mar del Plata festivals, in addition to receiving the Golden Biznaga for Best Actress (Gasolfino) and Best Ibero-American Film at the Malaga festival, and being part of the San Diego Latino Film Festival selection 2022.

After the screening, there will be a remote question and answer session with the scriptwriter and director.

The International Film Showcase in Ensenada will continue in the following weeks with the screening of the Mexican feature films "Estanislao" (2021) by director Alejandro Guzmán Álvarez and "Corazón de Mezquite" (2021) by Ana Laura Calderón, among others.
