Madrid, Spain. – To increase the exposure of Baja California, promote its production chain and locations, and generate and receive audiovisual productions, the Cinematography Commission participates as part of the Mexican delegation in the third edition of “Iberseries & Platino Industria” to be held from October 3-6, 2023 in Madrid, Spain, reported the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales. 

Iberseries & Platino is a professional audiovisual event with international projection focused on serial content in Spanish, promoted by the Secuoya Foundation and is a meeting point for platforms, television networks, producers, distributors, buyers and other agents in the sector, in addition to entities and organizations dedicated to tourism, education and new technologies linked to audiovisuals.

The Mexican delegation integrated under the concept “Stage Mexico Produce” seeks to take advantage of the event by gaining strength to have greater representation. Through a networking network, the objective is to generate work both inside and outside Mexico in the audiovisual field, and that through this network those who are interested in filming in Mexico will find services, economic incentives, professionalization and locations, taking advantage of the geographical wealth.

The activities began with the ribbon cutting of the national commercial representation, an activity in which personalities from the national audiovisual industry were present, such as the Mexican winners of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences Award Jaime Baksht, Eugenio Caballero and Michelle Couttolenc ; Nicolás Celis, producer of the film “Roma”; Angélica Lares, director of El Taller del Chucho; Guillermo Saldaña, General Director of the Film Commission of Mexico City (CFILMA); Javier Espinoza, Baja Film Commissioner; Eduardo Cervera from EC Rubio; Leonardo Barnard, music supervisor for Warner Chapell Music; as well as representatives of the production companies Art Kingdom, EGEDA, the National Chamber of the Film Industry (CANACINE), Barraca Producciones, among others.
