Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.- For the first time in Baja California, a sample from the exhibition in competition at the fantastic and horror film festival FERATUM Film Festival will be held, at the Cineteca Carlos Monsiváis of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) these next April 21 and 22 of the current year, as indicated by Abelardo Vázquez Ramos, Director of Creative Industries of the Secretary of Economy and Innovation of the State Government.

“It is a pleasure to present for the first time in Tijuana a sample of the best of FERATUM FILM FESTIVAL focused on Mexican horror and fantastic cinema of the last two years, three debut films with original and risky stories, which were winners in the last edition”, as indicated by Miguel Ángel Marín Colín, director and founder of the festival. There will be two short film programs and three feature films during the exhibition on this border.

The films that will be presented are "Mephisto" by Cristian Proa, a dream film that tells a story about loss, loneliness, dreams, and the bonds that are created between the living and the dead. Likewise, “Celeste Soledad” by Alex Argüelles, a family story where two sisters lose their parents in a car accident, turning everything into a nightmare. To close the cycle, the film "Guardado Hermano" directed by Jorge Iván Sanders will be screened; Filmed in Baja California, this is a story through the eyes of Leo, a young autistic man who lives in a lost town. Leo has suffered domestic violence, witnessed criminal tensions, sexual harassment and drug use.

Regarding the Mexican short film programs, a selection of the best short films screened in 2022, winners at FERATUM and internationally, is presented. Within this selection we are pleased to present three short films produced by the festival within the “FERATUM60” Rally, which have had more than 50 official selections worldwide, these being "Ofusco", "Tekenchu" and "Tenoch". It also includes "El Ángel" by director Javier López Medina from Ensenada.

"We are very happy that the festival has accepted the invitation to bring some of the work that they present at their original venue, it was a request from the director Javier López who participated last year and linked us with them," said Javier Espinoza, Baja California Film Commissioner. “The FERATUM exhibition in Tijuana is the beginning of a collaboration with the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) and the B.C. State Government. to promote and exhibit mainly Mexican and Latin American genre films, thus offering a space in the north of the country”, stated Marín.
