• “El Cielo No Nos Pertenece” received an award to ensure the production of another short film, it will be part of Shorts México 2022 and represents Mexico in the world final of the 48 Hour Film Project.

Tijuana, Baja California.- The short film "El Cielo No Nos Pertenece" directed by César Galileo and Fausto E. Celis filmed in Tijuana, received five mentions at the international film rally "48 Hour Film Project México", including Best Short Film, as reported by the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales.This rally is the oldest and largest international competition in the world, taking place in 130 cities on five continents. It consists of accepting the challenge of making a short film in 48 hours in a random genre and three surprise elements: a character, an object and a line of dialogue that will be delivered to the team on the day the rally starts, having two days to do it, including post-production.

In Mexico, the rally director is Camilla Demichelis. The categories in which the short film prevailed are: Best Use of the Imposed Genre, Best Editing (Oscar Saúl González), Nikon Award for Best Photography (Oliver Colunga), Best Production (Hosanna León) and Best Short Film, and receiveing for the latter a prize consisting of the production of a new short film of up to 10 minutes in length with a value of 400,000 pesos, as well as a trophy and a diploma.

Similarly, the short film will be part of the official selection of the 2022 Shorts Mexico Festival and will represent Mexico in the world final of the "48 Hour Film Project", which will take place in Washington, DC, United States, during the festival Filmapalooza. In this regard, director Fausto E. Celis commented:

“We feel excited, surprised, but above all grateful to each of the people who supported us in this madness. If making a short film is difficult, making it in 48 hours may seem like an impossible mission, but having a team with the talent, discipline and confidence to solve any adversity is the greatest prize”.

"El Cielo No Nos Pertenece" had locations such as Agua Caliente Boulevard, Tijuana River, El Chaparral Bridge and Tijuana Beaches, it is a D'Norte production, and had a team that included, in addition to those previously mentioned, the screenwriter Marco Celis; Paulina Vizcayno, art direction; Orlando Ponce, sound design and musicalization; Rodolfo Sanchez, VFX; Marina Hernández, graphic design; Alberto Aguilar, Production Coordinator; Fulvio Cortez and Tony Hernández, direct sound; Roberto Rosas, assistant director; José Ángel Ornelas, camera assistant; and the collaboration of Xóchitl Melissa, Jorge Domínguez, Rolando Araiza, Olivia Miranda, Pamela Mercado and the production company Empírica.

To conclude, the Secretary said that the support and promotion of the film industry will be maintained through the Directorate of Creative Industries, seeking to promote talent and also attract projects to the state.
