The short film "Año sin luz", written and directed by Marlon Morales and starring actor Adolfo Madera, was presented at the Carlos Monsiváis Film Library of the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT), as reported the Secretary of Economy and Innovation, Kurt Honold Morales.

Filmed over five days, it used locations in Tijuana such as the tunnel to Playas de Tijuana, Big Boy Restaurant, Revolución Avenue, Colinas de Agua Caliente and the 20 de Noviembre neighborhood. It is about Ulises (Madera), a judicial officer tired of the violence that exists in his work and in the country and narrates in detail his last case before retiring: The disappearance of Lucía Pardo in northern Mexico in 1997.

After 3 months of post-production and its public presentation, "Año Sin Luz" will be sent to its festival route, according to what is indicated by the Baja Film Commission.

In addition to Adolfo Madera, the cast is made up of Noelia Beltrán, Maru Kazán, and Raúl Bóxer. The direction of photography is by Bianca Arvizu; production design by Brenda Bellozo; Arturo Campos, first assistant director; Francisco Charolet, gaffer; Fulvio Cortez, sound engineer; Sinahí Avalos, decoration; Tomás Sandoval, continuist; Lizeth Serrano, production coordinator; Ricardo Carreño, sound design; Fabian Arredondo Ponce, musical composer; Israel Espinoza, first camera assistant; Misael Andalón and Paulo Cabrera, second camera assistant.

Also, Wendy Torres participated as a makeup artist; Alberto Villaescusa, art assistant; Carlos Bustamante, grip; Walter Armenta and Héctor Mojúta, best boy; Carlos Saavedra, BTS; Fernando Guzman, color; and the executive production of Oscar Inzunza in conjunction with Marlon Morales who also serves as producer along with Bianca Arvizu and Juan Hernández.

About the project, the director commented: “It was a totally different experience from our previous ones, not only because of recording in the time of COVID, but also because of the number of challenges and demands, external or internal, that arose resulting in the best time I have ever had. Filming a movie project here in Tijuana.” Finally, the director thanked Adolfo Madera and the entire team that made "Año Sin Luz" possible.
