- ICA Certification boosts trust, quality, and sustainability into Baja California's Creative Industry
Tijuana, Baja California – With the goal of continuing to strengthen Baja California's audiovisual ecosystem, the State Government, through the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, launches the 2025 call to obtain the Film and Audiovisual Industry Certification (ICA), a distinction that recognizes excellent legal, operational, and quality practices of companies dedicated to audiovisual production and supply in the state.
The ICA Certification seeks to provide confidence to clients and investors through a review process that verifies compliance with international standards in areas such as responsibility, sustainability, and business management. This effort is part of Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda's strategy to promote the professionalization of the creative sector and consolidate Baja California as a national and international benchmark in audiovisual production.
The evaluation process will be conducted by Q Alliance and will include a document audit and an on-site visit, based on a model adapted to three categories: Advertising, Content, and Supply. Companies based in Baja California with proven activity in fiscal year 2024 and that demonstrate their commitment to a continuous improvement agenda are eligible to participate.
The call is supported by the Mexican Association of Filmmakers (AMFI), the National Chamber of the Cinematographic Industry (CANACINE), and the Motion Picture Association (MPA), which strengthens its impact and credibility nationally and internationally.
The first edition of this certification was launched in 2024, resulting in the certification of Studio Productora and Galaxy 8 Entertainment, companies that have worked with renowned global brands and platforms such as Netflix, Foxconn, and Heineken, and participated in productions such as "Saw X," "Selena: The Series," and "Fear the Walking Dead." Two new companies are currently under evaluation.
Interested parties can review the requirements for participation in the official call and register before July 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The Baja Film Commission will provide support and guidance throughout the registration process.
