• Local professionals and creators will have access to international certification programs offered by the leading platform in global film education.

Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico – With the goal of strengthening professional skills, international certification, and the global reach of the audiovisual industry in the state, the Baja California Film Commission and Stage 32 formally announced a strategic collaboration alliance, as announced by the Undersecretary of Creative Industries of the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation, Abelardo Vázquez Ramos. 

Local professionals and creators will have access to international certification programs offered by the leading platform in global film education. Thanks to this joint effort, filmmakers, producers, students, technicians, content creators, and professionals in the Baja California audiovisual sector will be able to join Stage 32's international certification programs. Stage 32 is a leading platform for professional development in film and television, boasting a global community of over 1.3 million members in 100 countries.

The training and certification programs will cover key areas of international production, such as line production, production assistance, location management, production accounting, production coordination, and other essential disciplines for integrating talent into both national and international projects.

The Baja California Film Commissioner, Javier Espinoza Medina, highlighted the impact of this agreement for the region: “For years, Baja California has been one of Mexico's most important production destinations. Our proximity to Los Angeles, our infrastructure, our locations, and our creative talent make us a natural platform for international productions. This alliance with Stage 32 represents an important step in continuing to professionalize our industry and generate new opportunities for audiovisual professionals in the state.”

For his part, David Zannoni, International Liaison for Stage 32 and Advisor to CANACINE (National Chamber of the Film Industry), highlighted the state's competitive advantages: “Few places in Latin America are as strategically positioned for the entertainment industry as Baja California. The unique combination of world-class infrastructure, international connectivity, creative talent, and direct access to the North American market makes the state an ideal partner for Stage 32 certification initiatives. This alliance seeks to connect Baja California professionals with global standards, reinforcing our shared mission to position the state and Mexico as world-class destinations.”

As part of the launch of this collaboration, the Film Commission invites the audiovisual community to participate in a free informational webinar to be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 5 PM on the Zoom platform. 

The session will be led by David Zannoni, a Collections Management (CAM) specialist with experience in over 300 productions since 2007 and Stage 32's international liaison, along with Sam Sokolow, Stage 32's Certification Director and two-time Emmy-nominated executive producer for the series Genius (National Geographic/Disney+). The session will detail the operation of the Global Certification Program and offer a special discount for attendees from the state.
