Tijuana, Baja California.- The Organizing Committee of the \u201cV\u00edctor Soto Ferrel\u201d 2025 State Film Criticism Contest announces the results of its first edition, held with the purpose of strengthening film critic practice in Baja California and creating spaces for film analysis from diverse and contemporary perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This edition received 24 submissions<\/strong> from different municipalities of the state, as well as from participants with varied backgrounds and experiences. The jury \u2014 composed of Rodrigo Mart\u00ednez Mart\u00ednez, Ofelia Ladr\u00f3n de Guevara, Ana Iribe, and Carlos Rg\u00f3 \u2014 evaluated the works independently and anonymously, following the criteria established in the call for entries and emphasized during the introductory film criticism workshop taught by Cuauht\u00e9moc Ruelas as part of the contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n After reviewing the scores, the jury approved the following results:<\/p>\n\n\n\n First Place:<\/strong> Prize: $5,000 pesos, certificate, and a set of books from UABC Editorial<\/p>\n\n\n\n Second Place:<\/strong> Prize: $2,000 pesos, certificate, and a set of books from UABC Editorial<\/p>\n\n\n\n Third Place:<\/strong> Prize: $1,000 pesos, certificate, and a set of books from UABC Editorial<\/p>\n\n\n\n Honorable Mentions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Due to the quality of the submissions, the jury decided to grant three honorable mentions:<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Organizing Committee extends its recognition to all participants, whose proposals significantly enriched this first edition.
