{"id":5059,"date":"2025-08-04T12:57:00","date_gmt":"2025-08-04T19:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bajafilmcommission.com\/?p=5059"},"modified":"2025-08-15T13:07:46","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T20:07:46","slug":"presentara-bc-by-bc-largometrajes-producidos-en-baja-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bajafilmcommission.com\/en\/presentara-bc-by-bc-largometrajes-producidos-en-baja-california\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cBC BY BC\u201d WILL PRESENT FEATURE FILMS PRODUCED IN BAJA CALIFORNIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In collaboration with Cin\u00e9polis.<\/li><li>At 6 p.m. on August 13th in Tijuana and Mexicali.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.\u2013 In collaboration with the Mexican movie theater chain Cin\u00e9polis, the Baja California Film Commission of the Ministry of Economy aAnd Innovation (SEI) will present the feature films \u201cBroken Borders\u201d and \"Amongst the Ropes\u201d at 6 p.m. on August 13th  as part of the \u201cBC by BC\u201d exhibition, announced the Undersecretary of Creative Industries, Abelardo V\u00e1zquez Ramos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SEI official emphasized that the exhibition, which will be held jointly and free of charge at Plaza R\u00edo (\"Amongst the Ropes\") and Plaza San Pedro (\"Broken Borders\") in the municipalities of Tijuana and Mexicali, respectively, aims to showcase two film projects produced in Baja California by local talent and crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"With the 'BC by BC' exhibition, we seek to showcase Baja California's filmmaking talent and strengthen our creative community. These productions, made by local talent and crew, reflect our state's ability to generate quality content and project it through strategic alliances like the one we have with Cin\u00e9polis,\u201d said V\u00e1zquez Ramos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Javier Espinoza Medina, Baja Film Commissioner, noted that both films, produced in the state, have received recognition at various festivals both in the country and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rodrigo \u00c1lvarez's \u201cBroken Borders\u201d received the Best Film award at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, the Audience Award at the Cine las Am\u00e9ricas Film Festival; the Jury and Distribution Award at the Ensenada International Film Festival; and Best Film at \u201cHola M\u00e9xico\u201d held in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Fernando A. Fisher's \u201cAmongst the Ropes\u201d received the awards for Best Film and Best Director at the Lulea International Film Festival, Norrbotten, Sweden; Best Film by Audience at the \u201cLift Off Filmmaker Session\u201d in London, United Kingdom; and Best Film at the \u201cThespian Cinema Fest 2025\u201d in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Espinoza Medina stated that the film \u201cAmongst the Ropes\u201d tells the story of a superhero, from the perspective of its director, Fernando A. Fisher, who fights against everything in a world where not everything is bad or colorful like in a comic book, and where it changes over time. It's a metaphorical struggle against the life we live today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the film \u201cBroken Borders\u201d by Rodrigo \u00c1lvarez Flores, filmed in Tijuana, depicts a city steeped in great aspirations and melancholic endings, it is home to individuals who, although ready to take flight, remain rooted in their surroundings. The film explores the universal themes of love, violence, desire, and their consequences, woven around a plot that emerged from a personal obsession with stories that intertwine the destinies of various characters, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PROFILE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RODRIGO \u00c1LVAREZ FLORES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bachelor of Cinematography. Notable works include \u201cAl otro lado\u201d (2017), with honorable mention at Outfest LA, and \u201cAl Final de la Noche\u201d (2019), screened at the prestigious Huesca Film Festival. His directorial debut, \u201cSoy lo que nunca fui\u201d (Broken Borders), received support from the Mexican Film Promotion Program (FOCINE) from the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) and the Sof\u00eda Films Award at Ventana Sur 2021. Demonstrating his dedication to expanding creative boundaries in cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FERNANDO A. FISHER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Independent filmmaker who has made several short films since an early age. Born in San Diego, CA, but residing in Tijuana, B.C., he studied to be a Telemedia Production Specialist where he discovered his true love for film. Founder of his own production company called \u201cFishDaug Films.\u201d His preference is horror, although not all of his short films are in this genre, such as his previous Drama project called \u201cEl Amor No Existe\u201d (2018), which participated in several film festivals, including the Rainbow Umbrella Film Festival in London, England (2019), winning a statuette in the Best Supporting Actor category. \u201cPerturbado\u201d, another of his short films, was selected at the Horrible Imaginings Film Festival 2020, where he won Best Horror Short Film and Best Actor, thus being in 9 international selections. Currently, his first feature film \u201cAmongst the Ropes\u201d has been selected in different International festivals, winning three awards for Best Film, three for Best Photography, Best Direction, Best Actor, and another for Best Supporting Actor.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>En colaboraci\u00f3n con Cin\u00e9polis.
