San Quint\u00edn, Baja California, Mexico.- Filming of the feature film \u201cEl Guardian\u201d, directed and produced by Nuria Iba\u00f1ez, is taking place in Bah\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles and around San Quint\u00edn. The film is the adaptation of the documentary \u201cUna Corriente Salvaje\u201d, nominated for the Ariel Award and winner of Best Documentary Feature at the Morelia Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Filming takes place in Baja California and will last 34 days, generating 80 direct jobs. \u201cEl Guardian\u201d tells the story of Basilio, who becomes the new caretaker of a deserted beach, and who eventually stops receiving his salary, forcing him to make the decision to stay in this refuge or return to his town. The cast is headed by actor Gerardo Trejoluna, recently nominated for the Ariel and the Silver Goddess Award for his leading role in \u201cEl Norte Sobre el Vac\u00edo.\u201d Blake Webb, Andrea Lara, Mart\u00edn Peralta and Ernesto Rocha also participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The production of the feature film is carried out by Cristina Velasco and Nuria Iba\u00f1ez; H\u00e9ctor Zubieta, online producer; Marimar Herrer\u00edas, production coordinator; Rub\u00e9n Vel\u00e1zquez, production assistant; Diana Saade, art director; Claudia Becerril, director of photography; Patricia Ort\u00edz, casting director; C\u00e9sar Iv\u00e1n lugo Dom\u00ednguez, gaffer; Octavio Castellanos, location manager; Liliana S\u00e1nchez, sound engineer; Ra\u00fal Zavala, boom operator; and, Claudia Cid, costume designer. It is estimated that \u201cEl Guardian\u201d will have post-production lasting eight months before its tour of national and international film festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Iba\u00f1ez commented on the project:El Guardian<\/em> is my first foray into fiction cinema, but it is closely connected to my work as a documentary filmmaker.
