A workshop focused on cinematographic commercialization and international sales and financing was held via digital, by Sof\u00eda M\u00e1rquez. Organized by the Baja California Film Commission, this event discussed key concepts to understand the cinematographic exploitation chain, who constitutes the different stages of commercialization and how international sales can be used to finance independent films. At the end of the 270-minute exhibition, space was granted to provide advice on projects previously selected for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The agenda included the exposition on the cinematographic exploitation chain, distribution windows, who markets, financing model for Mexican \/ Latin American films, pre-sales and sales estimates, and recovery schemes. The call was open nationwide and had no cost for the participants, who were present from Baja California, Mexico City, Chihuahua, and the State of Mexico, and will receive a certificate endorsed by the Tourist Competitiveness Institute within the framework of the Agreement for the Tourism Training of Mexico (ACTurMex) and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sof\u00eda M\u00e1rquez has more than 10 years of experience in international sales and promotion of Latin American cinema. In 2021 she founded IDA (Independent Distribution Agency), an agency that provides a distribution service at film festivals and creative sales and distribution strategies focused on emerging filmmakers in the region. Prior to that, she worked with the Mexican production company, Alebrije Producciones, also at the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE) and was Head of Distribution at Canana, one of the main independent and production distributors in Latin America.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
